The surcharge assessed will be based on the change in the cost of U. S. No. 2 Diesel Retail Sales by All Sellers On-Highway Diesel (OHD). The source for the price of OHD is the U. S. Department of Energy’s EIA Retail On-Highway Diesel Prices Report whose monthly average price is available under 2-M Diesel Prices – All Types available at the following link:

September 2026 OHD average price:
$6.291
A Fuel Surcharge of $101.00 will be applied effective November 1st, 2026, to originated or terminated line haul cars or crosstown switch cars.
A Fuel Surcharge of $50.50 will be applied effective November 1st, 2026, to Category Two intermediate switch cars or cars to leased tracks for fan-out or car repair.
The above rates apply per Minnesota Commercial Railway’s Fuel Surcharge Tariff 1 Amendment 3 effective May 1, 2026.
